What AI gets wrong
AI tools produce fluent, confident text, images and summaries. Confident is not the same as correct.
- Made-up facts. AI can invent figures, quotes, sources, case law or product details that look real.
- Out-of-date answers. Many tools do not know about recent changes to prices, rules or products.
- Bias. Output can reflect unfair patterns in the data the tool learned from, for example about gender, age or nationality.
- Missing context. The tool does not know your customer, your contract or your company's rules unless you tell it, and it cannot know what it has not been told.
- Lost meaning. Summaries and translations can drop the one sentence that mattered.
Treat AI output as a first draft from a quick but unreliable assistant: useful, but always yours to check.
Key points
- Fluent and confident does not mean correct.
- Check facts, figures, names and sources before you rely on them.
