Lesson 5 of 6 · about 3 minutes
Your organisation's AI rules
Your employer should tell you:
- which AI tools and accounts are approved, and for what
- what you must never use AI for
- who to ask before trying a new AI tool or feature
- who to tell when something goes wrong
If you have not been given these rules, ask your manager. Until you know, use AI only for low-risk tasks that involve no personal or confidential information, and check everything it produces.
Good practice is simple: say when a customer-facing text was drafted with AI if your employer's policy asks you to, keep the original source of any fact you use, and never present AI output as someone's personal professional judgement when it is not.
Key points
- Know your approved tools, your banned uses and who to ask.
- No rules yet? Low-risk tasks only, and ask your manager.
